The Independent Solution Master
INTJ Tritype® 583
Amy Elliott Dunne made a living in New York as a writer of personality quizzes and she came from a wealthy childhood. As a child, she was so much of a source of inspiration that her psychologist parents produced a children’s book series called “Amazing Amy”.
Jungian introverted intuition—IN and NJ
● It adheres to the vision, observing with fascination, how the image changes, unfolds and finally fades.
● The morally oriented Ni type concerns themself with the meaning of their vision
● They feel bound to transform their vision into their own life.
● Since they tend to rely exclusively upon their vision, their moral effort becomes one-sided.
Adapted from Simpler Translation of Psychological Type by Carl Jung
Despite being intelligent, charming, and strategic, she proves to have psychopathic characteristics. Her history shows a tendency for posing herself as a victim while incriminating those around her and a series of manipulation.
Why is Amy dunne more defined by words that describe best people with INTJ preferences than ENTJ and infj?
Here is how cognitive functions work together, she is INTJ over ENTJ as she is:
- more just forward thinking than decisive (her complex plan took a year to develop),
- more structured and organized than ambitious and big picture (she worked simply as a writer of personality quizzes for magazines and her attention as a Type 3 or Type 5 core is strictly on her marriage),
- more quiet, reserved and independent than expressive, enthusiastic and direct,
- more imaginative and determined than analytical and measured (her children’s book series is called “Amazing Amy”),
- more harmony minded than outspoken (Even though she is a psychopath, prior to being in Se grip she pretended to be a cool girl (see last video), she is not seen as outspoken by the public at large and her ultimate Type 3 goal is to be with the ‘perfect husband’. Watch the movie to the end to see how she does that till the end.)
- more visionary and cause-and-effect oriented than planned and goals oriented (she seeks to be with the ‘perfect husband’ and changed her attitude after watching Nick on TV. She is highly cause-and-effect oriented with all her actions in her plan)
- more individualistic and purposeful than fair, critical and confident. (She is neither fair, nor critical, nor very confident compare to him.)
The Myers-Briggs Company INTJ vs. ENTJ
The 358 ENTJ antihero is Marla Grayson in “I Care a Lot” (2020).
She is INTJ over INFJ since she is:
- more structured, logical and determined than idealistic, passionate and thoughtful (her actions speak more than her words),
- more quiet, reserved and independent than caring, sensitive and humanist (ie. she used then coldly killed her former partner),
- more just harmony minded and leader than compassionate and kind (After a complex revenge plan to frame him for her murder, she just seeks to get back with Nick as they were before)
- more strategic, innovative and cause-and-effect oriented than planned, deep, intuitive and devoted (she spent a year developing a complex revenge plan to frame him for her murder),
- more individualistic and purposeful than introspective and loner.
The Myers-Briggs Company INTJ vs. INFJ
How is AMy a professional intj who turns into an Independent INTJ Solution Master?
She is a Five when she plans (visioning) and worked as a writer for personality quizzes, a Three when she is with others, and a Height when she falsely seeks justice for herself. In short, she is a INTJ Solution Master with a demonic Se grip as she turns from a Professional INTJ into an Independent INTJ. She is ‘tough-minded’ and ‘highly tenacious’ and the movie is all about her solution being ‘her plan.’

Amy is intelligent, charming, and strategic, but proves to be ruthlessly tough-minded. For instance, she coldly kills her ex-partner and her actions suggest an inclination towards posing herself as a victim while seeking to incriminate others in a chain of manipulation.

She clearly prioritises Thinking over Feeling. When she deems Nick now capable to become her perfect husband she then plots to kill her ex boyfriend.

Mel/Chol – [..] Their combination can lead them to “nit-pick” others and be revengeful to those they have a grudge against. http://www.thetransformedsoul.com/additional-studies/miscellaneous-studies/the-four-human-temperaments
Why is Amy dunne a Performer, Motivator, Achiever and Producer (Type 3) and a Solution Master, Maverick (Type 8) and an Observer, Thinker and sage or Voyeur (Type 5)?
She dated Nick for two years and after that, he became her husband. Nick worked as a journalist and Amy worked as a writer of personality quizzes for women’s magazines. However, they both lost their jobs during the Great Depression of 2009.
Amy’s parents who had built a trust fund from the sales of “Amazing Amy” were also forced to sell part of Amy’s trust funds because they didn’t curb their spending. This made Nick unhappy.
Enneagram Type 3: Successful Achiever
Performer, Motivator, Achiever, Producer or Status Seeker

3+5: The Professional
Karkino from Personality Cafe
Very cold and distant personality no matter the gut type
She became enraged and suddenly felt that Nick had ruined her life. Their marriage deteriorates; Amy holds a diary and she describes how she dislikes Nick for making her move and detest living in her new place and being a housewife in the suburbs. She also portrays Nick as an aggressive, moody, idle, and threatening husband and note that she fears for her life.

They should also be aware of their tendency to withdraw into their ivory tower of ideas. Others may start to see them as arrogant and unfeeling. Being dispassionate and ‘cool as a cucumber’ is good in an emergency but hard on relationships.
Katherine Chernick Fauvre
Jungian extraverted thinking—ET and TJ
Extraverted Thinking [ET and TJ]’s constant aim — as it is a pure type — is to fulfill its total life-activities in relation with intellectual conclusions, which are always oriented by objective data, whether it be objective facts or generally valid ideas. [..]
It gives deciding weight to an objectively oriented intellectual formula or method for itself and its environment.
Simpler Translation of Psychological Type by Carl Jung
In Nick’s narrative, he views Amy as a needlessly difficult, antisocial, controlling perfectionist, and an unwelcome obligation. However, he is later concerned about her disappearance so he goes publicly on TV to acknowledge his wrongdoing.
